GreenHome: upgrade your home with solar panels and insulation. Great idea. GreenHome started in 2015 and is now the largest platform for home energy upgrades in The Netherlands. Our international team consists of 18 professionals, #19: a senior fullstack developer.

GreenHome is built as an single page application, communicating with our backend via our razor-fast API, serving hundreds of visitors each day. Thanks to our recent rebuild we are able to add new features every day to our modular and super-scalable codebase. Oh Webpack, Typescript, Gulp and Sass, we love you so much!

 

Your responsibilities

  • Write readable and scalable code
  • Write tests for your features (unit, integration & acceptance)
  • Build modular components that are re-usable, application-wide
  • Keep our codebase super clean for maximum speed and scalability
  • Support and improve data-transfer between back- and frontend
  • Have a leading role in the development team, share your knowledge with the team and coach junior/medior front-enders to outgrow you in skills and knowledge

Requirements

You are a leader who likes to stay on top of the latest front-end technologies. You understand the balance between quality (things can always be better) and shipping. You take pride in crafting elegant, responsive and pixel-perfect interfaces, based on designs made by our UX/(UI) Designer. You not only make sure your code works: you make sure it keeps working by writing tests for the scalable components you create. You have experience with leading and coaching a front-end team, know what you can get done in a sprint and love to contribute to the further growth of GreenHome as startup.

  • Proven ability and motivation to learn and pick up new technologies really, really fast (days, not weeks/months).
  • HTML, CSS3 & Javascript
  • Proven trackrecord of developing an customer-facing (API-based) frontend using React & Redux
  • Building microservices using Node.js
  • ElasticSearch
  • Docker
  • Experience with working with Webpack, Typescript, Sass, Gulp, ES6 and Git(hub)
  • Experience with working in a Scrum team
  • Experience with implementing testing, including cross-browser testing
  • Understand the importance of insights, experience with tracking and analytics
  • Fluent (verbal and written) in English and/or Dutch
